This subject is a 200 hour course; meaning you will study this elective for both Year 9 & 10.
Technology gives students the opportunity to be actively involved in the design, planning and construction of many graded projects. It incorporates the use of materials, tools and processes relevant to the area of study. It also provides students with the opportunity to work co-operatively within a practical environment.
Students projects are able to be modified to meet individual needs, and to extend the range of work of students.
Wood Technology
Students progress through four lobes of Woodwork and progressively develop skills in project work which will include cabinet construction and furniture design.
Students will enjoy undertaking and completing many projects over the duration of the course.
The final Year 10 project is a major individual project which is chosen by the student. It demonstrates the development of knowledge and skills including design, planning, tools, materials, construction, lathe work, processes and finishing a major construction project.

Metal Technology
Students progress through four lobes of general Metalwork and progressively develop skills in sheet metal work, fabrication, assembled components, forge work and welding.
Students will enjoy undertaking and completing many projects over the duration of the course.
The final Year 10 project is a major individual project which is chosen by the student. It demonstrates the development of knowledge and skills including design, planning, tools, materials, construction, processes and finishing a major construction project.
