Languages Other Than English

French

Learning a second language enhances literacy skills and helps students to develop cultural understanding and tolerance. French is the mandatory language studied by all Year 7 students at Goulburn High School. Students will use the course Touché and are required to purchase two workbooks which accompany the Touché course.

The Touché course encourages students to use French in all four areas of communication: listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as enhancing their cultural knowledge of France and the French people.

Topics studied in Year 7 include:

Toi et moi: greetings, introducing yourself

Les voisins: talking about other people

Voici ma famille: family members

Les animaux: pets and farm animals

Au collége: school in France

La journée typique: daily routines

On fait le ménage: household chores

C'ést le weekend: weekend activities
