German is a language which is closely related to English in many ways.
Through studying a second language, students gain a better understanding of their own language and how it works.
The German course concentrates on students learning to communicate. Emphasis is placed on understanding what they hear and read, as well as learning to speak and write at a simple but effective level about everyday happenings.
As well as learning to communicate effectively in German, students learn about the way of life and culture of German people, helping to develop their understanding of people from different cultural backgrounds.
