This unit is designed to give students a better understanding of themselves as leaders and their leadership potential. The unit emphasises building self esteem, communication and team work and acknowledges student's strengths and individuality. Students will be encouraged to develop their leadership skills within the school and the wider community and will take part in school and community events such as SPACE Expo, Peer Support as well as undertaking activities at local Primary schools and mentoring younger students. Students will also take part in rock climbing and orienteering to foster leadership skills and develop responsibility. Students will be given the opportunity to obtain certificates in coaching and first aid.
