Meet our new principal

Mr Yogesh Mani has officially been named principal of Goulburn High School

Congratulations to Mr Yogesh Mani who has officially been named principal of Goulburn High School.

He has worked at the school for the past eight years and been deputy principal for five years before stepping into the top job.

Here are a few words from Mr Mani:

It is an honour and privilege to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of education.

I was born in Fiji in a small village in the Coral Coast – the Rugby Town. I immigrated to Australia in 2005 and have been living in Goulburn since 2008.

I have worked in private businesses for a few years before dedicating to the field of education for more than fifteen years.

I have worked in five schools in Fiji and NSW and am excited and eager to utilise my skills and experiences as an educational leader to ensure your child has the best learning experiences at Goulburn High School.

I view education as a life-long process and expect that I will continue to learn much more about the uniqueness of Goulburn High in the years to come.

Along with the teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established by Goulburn High by building strong relationships with parents, students and community partners.

We will focus on ensuring that every student is known, valued and cared for, all students have a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy, in-depth content knowledge and confidence in their ability to learn, adapt and be responsible citizens, and all students finish school well prepared for higher education, training and work.

Most importantly, I bring a belief that students are at the centre of all school-related decisions.  I am excited to unite my experience, my openness to learn, and my student-centred approach to support our students.

Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved in every way possible. I look forward to meeting you soon.

As your principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors-teachers, students and parents are excited to be here.  This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment.

My door is always open, and I welcome your input.  Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year.
